Please drink daily, one cup in the am and one cup in the pm:
detoxification tea - Yogi Tea: Detox Tea, for instance, or any other brand is fine.
The entire three days will be a little more comfortable for you if you can prepare yourself ahead of time. Cleansing practices can sometimes be really intense if there are a lot of toxic build-up, or ama in sanskrit/ayurveda. Please do your best. At first detoxing is uncomfortable, but once a nice layer of ama build-up is gone, the energy you will feel is incredible, truly yogic.
This is a silent, detoxifying, rejuvenating Retreat that aims at these goals:
These two and a half days will prepare you for a deep cleansing this spring. We will rid ourselves gently to vigorously, of any residues from previous food or chemical choices, and by sunday afternoon, we will feel clean and energized! Practices will range from hot sweaty asana, gentle ayurvedic massage, nostril cleansing, cool restorative poses, deep meditation practices, subtle pranayama practices, and delicious chanting. There will be dietary guidelines with appropriate meals served, to cleanse our highest selves. This intensive is appropriate for all levels of practitioners. Meals and lodging fully included.
This retreat will be mostly silent, to allow for another type of cleansing for the mind.
Please bring the following to class:
notebook, paper, (there will be some journalling assignments), to take notes, pen/pencil, your own sticky-mat , water, comfortable clothes to practice Yoga and meditation for all sessions. Cell phones turned off.
For our am sessions be prepared to sweat! Please wear yoga clothes to each session. Please bring any yoga props you are used to using (mat, blanket, bolster, strap, block, eyebag). If you own a neti pot, please bring. If you own a meditation cushion please bring. We will have extras of everything.
